Field of Dreams Memory Care Household August Lookback

To say we had a fun this month is an understatement. With the summer slowly coming to a close, we sure did create many great memories this August, here in our Memory Care Household.

We started off the month with a juicy watermelon social in honor of National Watermelon Day. We celebrated Field of Dreams’ one year Anniversary on the 4th, with great music that got many of us up off of our chairs and dancing the day away, fresh homemade chocolate chip cookies baked by our very own baking group, and many laughs with the family we have created within these walls here at Field of Dreams.

We were licking our lips and fingers, from all of the chocolaty, sticky, goodness gobbling up s’mores on National S’mores Day. With the proper COVID precautions, we welcomed the Generations Band down at the pavilion, and danced and sang the afternoon away. A Tanglewood Manor favorite, Nan Hoffman was given a warm welcome with her acoustic talents. It’s safe to say we are patiently waiting for both groups to come back.

Our August birthday party was a success with delicious chocolate fudge bars, and ice cream sandwiches on a hot summer day. With competitive juices flowing, many of the residents enjoyed a Minute to Win-It Challenge with many laughs throughout.

While taking advantage of the perfect sunny weather, what better way to enjoy it than with a few fishing in the park sessions? The fish were enjoying the worms and sure weren’t letting us down!

Other activities we enjoy are bingo, Nerf Gun Target Shooting (some of our ladies are quite the shot!), Scattegories, Hangman, Bean Bag Twister, Ring Toss, Lawn Darts, Putt Putt Golf, and many golf cart rides enjoying our beautiful campus, we sure kept busy this month.

Residents are also enjoying a great new Wellness Program daily with such programs like Balancing, Resistance Bands, Chair Yoga we are happy to continue living an active lifestyle, yet keeping it fun and interesting everyday.

We cannot wait for the fall season approaching very soon, with crafts, baking, and many fall-filled festivities just around the corner.
