Field of Dreams June Look Back

What a month we’ve had this June! With summer finally in full swing, we sure couldn’t help but take advantage of enjoying this gorgeous weather that we’ve had.

We kicked off the month with honoring National Doughnut Day with some delicious fresh doughnuts, from local grocery and bakery, Reid’s Food Barn. Our residents enjoyed some cold iced tea out on our back patio, while listening to heartfelt short stories during our Chicken Soup for the Soul readings. We honored Flag Day, with a wear red, white and blue day.

We started up a new activity this month. We welcomed a weekly men’s club and ladies club. Men get to play games, go for walks, watch movies, and talk sports, while the ladies enjoy baking sessions, taking technology courses, crafting, and enjoying each other’s company.

Painting with Jessica was on the patriotic side this month, with a gorgeous painting of an American Flag sunset. Craft club was a hit this month with a tie dye shirt day. Residents that made their masterpieces are looking forward wearing their shirts together in the upcoming months.

To kick off the summer, we celebrated with a Finally Summer Social and enjoyed some sweet, yet refreshing root beer floats. We also celebrated Father’s Day with Donuts for Dad, and a wonderful Father’s Day Parade to honor all the dads here at Field of Dreams.

We enjoyed a wonderful Sing Along session with staff member Daveen, while singing many old favorites. Scenic drives around town were a wonderful way to site see and enjoy the fresh air. Wendy’s was a great treat to enjoy during our Take Out day this month as well.

We cannot wait for July and the fun festivities it will bring. With the second phase of our pavilion almost complete, we are counting down the days to enjoy the summer weather, golf cart rides, fishing and many memorable picnics and concerts.

If you have any questions or comments for upcoming activities, please contact Jessica Paprocki, Activities Director at (716)543-4200, extension 4215, or email at [email protected]
