Tanglewood Manor Memory Care Household April Look Back
Spring is natures way of saying “let’s party!” As the month of April has come and gone, the residents in the Memory Care Household here at Tanglewood are definitely looking forward to the fun and excitement that come with the season of Spring, and definitely as we near the cusp of Summer! April was a month of continued change, but nevertheless, our residents here in the Memory Care Household handled every transition with a resilience that is truly admirable. In the mix of all of this change, one thing remains. Here at Tanglewood, socialization is our “cure all”, and though we operate with increased precautions, our residents are still able to socialize and enjoy life to the fullest.
The month started with one of the residents favorite activities. “Music with Mary!” We are so fortunate to have such a talented staff member who leads sing a longs from all different eras and genres of music to connect with our residents through the universal language of music. Here our residents are able to think back on memories, reminisce, and get a large dose of the daily medical prescription , laughter. Another activity that the residents have enjoyed throughout the month of April, is their weekly Exercise Group with another talented staff member Patrick, who leads purposeful exercise and chair yoga, which the residents look forward to every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
In addition to a plethora of games and activities that also focus on cognitive and physical strengthening, our residents have enjoyed socializing in a variety of different parties and socials in April.
This year Easter looked a little different due to the lack of being with friends and family, but this holiday carried special meaning as we were able to celebrate this sacred holiday with our Tanglewood family and friends.We were even paid a visit by the Easter bunny who brought us treats. The delicious Easter dinner and dessert, made this holiday complete. To end the month of April we went out with a BANG! as we celebrated all there is to look forward to in the upcoming warm weather months with a Luau. We were able to take a trip to the island of Hawaii, right in our own home!
Though the month of April turned out to be a splendid month, all of our residents are thinking about the loved ones who seem so far away during these trying times. We look forward to the future with positively as we wait to be reunited once again! Stay safe!
