Field of Dreams Memory Care Household April Look Back

The cool, rainy, snowy weather might have been overpowering this month of April, but that didn’t break our spirits here at Field of Dreams Memory Care Household.

We kicked off the month with a fun session of silly jokes and hot cocoa, held on non other than April Fool’s Day. Residents also enjoyed our first Easter Egg Hunt with many great prizes such as chocolate bunnies, scratch off tickets, and a grand prize of a large Easter basket with fun goodies!

Although we couldn’t be joined with family this Easter, we made sure it was a memorable one between residents and staff. Residents were treated with a fun Easter social, with delicious donuts made from a local bakery!

Take-Out was a crowd favorite with residents ordering from Taco Bell and KFC in the beginning of April and to the Bird Cage Restaurant, the last week. Good food, good company, happy tummies!

Painting with Jessica this month was a fun twist of painting a Japanese Cherry Blossom Tree with mixed media of acrylic paint and using different shades of pink tissue paper as the blossomed flowers. The group was so pleased with how they turned out.

For National Pineapple Upside Down Cake Day, we made just that during our baking group, a pineapple upside down cake. We enjoyed every bite during our April Tea Party. We go the two thumbs up!

Our monthly favorite still held strong this month. Such activities played are bingo, dice bingo, trivia, hangman, catchphrase, ball toss, Nerf target shooting, Memory Lane Trivia, Pok-E-No, Bean Bag Toss, and Jeopardy.

We are looking forward to getting outdoors more, if the weather can hold strong with sunshine and warmer air. We cannot wait to see what May has in store for us!

If you have any questions or comments for upcoming activities, please contact Jessica Paprocki, Activities Director at (716)543-4200, extension 4215, or email at [email protected]
