Field of Dreams Memory Care Household March Look Back

What an eventful March we had here at Memory Care Household. We sure felt the luck and the early sunshine that Spring brought our way!

We were very fortunate to have back our favorites, Cindy Sue and Brian Wolcott who performed many classic songs for all to sing along to. They even brought their fur-friend Macho, who barked along to “How much is that doggy in the window”. It was safe to say, Macho stole the show!¬† We also welcomed back Richard Pensyl who sang many favorite tunes as well.

We tested out some homemade Shamrock Shakes, which were a definite must-have for this St. Patrick’s Day celebration. We enjoyed some sugar cookies for our St. Patrick’s Day Social along with some delicious fruit punch. For our March birthday party, we celebrated with some homemade cupcakes that definitely fit the theme. Dark green cupcakes, with gold and orange sprinkles. Yum!

During our St. Patrick’s Day Social, we got to play St. Patrick’s Day Trivia and got silly with a fun photo booth filled with props. We also played some of our favorites games throughout the month, Bingo, Dice Bingo, Chutes and Ladders, Quirkle, 7 Up card game, Memory Lane Trivia, I Spy, and Operation.

We enjoyed many creative crafts this month as well. We painted adorable little bird houses in pastel Spring colors, St. Patrick’s Day wreaths, and some flower shaped photo frames to decorate our rooms. Painting with Jessica, our Activities Director was rather a creative session, as we used our minds to create fun nature scenes.

While sipping on hot cocoa, we enjoyed a good session of reading positive short stories from Chicken Soup for the Soul.

Our residents had a great laugh during our Annual Field of Dreams Fashion Show. Some of the staff participated in the event and gave some good belly laughs with their ridiculous ensembles. A few of our ladies dressed beautifully and wowed the crowd of their choice of outfits.

With the warmer weather coming along, we took advantage with took a few nice walks around the campus, and enjoying the sun.

With the global pandemic going on around us, we are still keeping our heads up, staying positive and enjoying each other’s company. With outings and entertainment out of the schedule at this time, Memory Care Household¬†is still keeping busy with many activities and social gatherings. With the nicer weather still approaching, we are looking forward to continue getting outdoors to enjoy activities.
