Field of Dreams March Look Back

What an interesting, yet fun month we’ve had here at Field of Dreams.

We welcomed back our friends Cindy Sue and Brian Wolcott as they performed many favorite harmonious tunes. We also welcomed Richard Pensyl, who performed some great tunes as well. We lucked out with having them join us, as the pandemic drew us to cancel other visitors for the time being. We have made the most of the situation and have kept busy regardless!

Our ladies sure are doing great with baking lately. Who doesn’t love fresh baked, homemade molasses cookies? They were outstanding! Cupcakes were the popular demand for our birthday party as well.

What better way to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day than with some delicious homemade Shamrock Shakes? With a cherry on top, they sure were a hit! We had a fun and memorable photo booth during our St. Patrick’s Day celebration, to top it off with some punch and sugar cookies.

We enjoyed our favorite games of Yahtzee, Bingo, Dice Bingo, Apples to Apples, and Trivia. Residents got competitive during a St. Patrick’s themed Jeopardy and enjoyed a festive Minute to Win It game as well.

Our creative juices were flowing this month with some adorable crafts. Very festive St. Patrick’s day wreaths came out with bold green and gold colors. By the end of the month, the ladies had painted wooden hanging pieces with words like bloom, Welcome Spring, and flowers to decorate their rooms. Intricate beading was used to create some beautiful sun catchers.

Painting with Jessica, our Activities Director was enjoyable as we worked hard on some shamrock pieces. They turned out beautiful.

While sipping on hot cocoa, we enjoyed a good session of reading positive short stories from Chicken Soup for the Soul.

Our residents had a great laugh during our Annual Field of Dreams Fashion Show. Some of the staff participated in the event and gave some good belly laughs with their ridiculous ensembles. A few of our ladies dressed beautifully and wowed the crowd of their choice of outfits.

With the warmer weather coming along, we took advantage with took a few nice walks around the campus, and enjoying the sun.

With the global pandemic going on around us, we are still keeping our heads up, staying positive and enjoying each other’s company. With outings and entertainment out of the schedule at this time, Field of Dreams is still keeping busy with many activities and social gatherings. With the nicer weather still approaching, we are looking forward to continue getting outdoors to enjoy activities.

If you have any questions or comments for upcoming activities, please contact Jessica Paprocki, Activities Director at (716)543-4200, extension 4215, or email at [email protected]
