The Magnolia Memory Care Households January Look Back

It’s been a wonderful start to 2020 for our folks in the Memory Care Households at The Magnolia. Between our oldies-but-goodies favorite games like bowling and bingo, or musical entertainment, we enjoyed a few new favorite activities that January offered.

This month, we welcomed back a few of our favorite performers, including Stan and Amanda Barton, Russ Keiser, and The Sunshine Band from the Seventh Day Adventist Church. Any time our day is filled with music is destined to be a great day! We also enjoy our Wednesday afternoons when Mary Schmidt from Tanglewood Manor joins us for a musical activity. This month we did both sing-a-longs and a new favorite – Name That Tune! It was a great way to reminisce on music from when we were growing up!

We also took time this month to celebrate and have fun. We had a hot chocolate social where we were served hot chocolate and offered yummy toppings to pair with our drinks, including marshmallows, peppermint, whipped topping and chocolate! It was a cozy day to stay indoors, because it happened to be a snow storm that day! Although the snow was short lived, we’re still talking about the delicious hot chocolate we enjoyed. This month we also celebrated our January birthdays with cupcakes made by our Magnolia friends, and delicious strawberry ice cream. There’s just something about ice cream and cake that hit the spot!

While the month of January comes to a close, we’re becoming eager to see what the remaining months await for us to come! We’re looking forward to celebrating both Valentine’s Day, Mardi Gras, and of course the much anticipated Super Bowl! As always, we would like to extend a warm welcome to friends and family that would like to join in on all the fun we have to offer in The Memory Care Households at The Magnolia!
