The Magnolia at Frewsburg Rest Home January Look Back

Another year has come upon us, and our folks at The Magnolia have welcomed the new year with open and excited arms. We have a lot to look forward to this upcoming year, and January was a perfect start to set the tone for 2020!

Music is something that always keeps us on our feet or tapping our toes, so when we are able to incorporate that into our daily routine is always a great idea! We began the month of January by welcoming back a few of our favorite musical entertainers, including Stan and Amanda Barton, Russ Keiser, and the Sunshine Band with the Seventh Day Adventist Church. Along with some of our favorite activities including bingo, baking group and zonk, we celebrated our January birthday babies, and also had a tasty hot chocolate bar to warm us up during the short-lived snow storm we had.

Giving back and showing appreciation for our community and its members is something that we look forward to doing. This month, we decided to express our gratitude for our local fire department – The Frewsburg Fire Company, for the selfless and courageous deeds they do for our community.  Our craft club put together goodies bag with contents in them that that emphasized their actions. Included inside were:

Life Savor candies – to remind them of the many times they’ve been one
Starbursts – for that burst of energy they’ll need
Hershey kisses – because they deserve a lot of kisses for all that they do
Peppermints – to help keep their cool, and
Snickers – to remind them to keep their sense of humor.

We delivered their goodie bags during a meeting that was held at the fire hall. They were kind enough to let us join, and allowed us to speak a few words of appreciation.

January has been so generous to us, we can’t wait to see what the rest of the year has in store! We look forward to the several shopping trips ahead, going to lunch and bowling at Jamestown Bowling Company, our monthly birthday party, and a Valentine’s Day and Mardi Gras feast we have planned for the month of February! As always, we would like to extend a warm welcome to friends and family that would like to join in on all the fun we have to offer at The Magnolia at Frewsburg Rest Home!
