Field of Dreams January Look Back

What a way to kick off the New Year here at Field of Dreams! We sure kept busy and had many fun, winter themed festivities!

We started off the month with a fun game of Musical Masterpieces ( similar to musical chairs, but with drawing), we also played a January themed Word Scramble, and other games such as Bingo, dice bingo, Scrabble, Constantinople (a fun word game), Stories from a Hat, Winter Hangman, Apples to Apples, Memory Lane Trivia, and a new favorite, Snowman Slam!

Some of our residents enjoyed a delicious lunch at Mio Gelato’s where their famous pizza was the top choice. We also took a trip to the Dollar Tree and had some delicious Chinese Cuisine during our Take-Out this month.

Our residents enjoyed baking some delicious homemade brownies for the Tea Party this month. They sure were messy but so delicious! Some of our residents also enjoyed a warm cup of hot cocoa by the fireplace as we read some short stories and poetry.

We welcomed some adorable furry friends during our Pet Therapy visits with Sandy and Gunner, as well as Jean, and friends . They sure put a lot of smiles on the residents’ faces and were a warm welcome by all.

Our craft club enjoyed making some interesting pieces such as snow window clings, as well as “Bless You Jars”. The ladies couldn’t get over how creative they were. They couldn’t wait to try them out.  We also enjoyed our first paint class, with Activities Director, Jessica as some of the residents joined in and made their very own winter scene. All the same, but all unique in their own way. Such talent our residents have!

We are looking forward to the month of love, in February. With many Valentine themed activities, the month will be one we hope to make memorable. If you have any questions or comments for upcoming activities, please contact Jessica Paprocki, Activities Director at (716)543-4200, extension 4215, or email at [email protected]
