The Magnolia December Lookback

During the month of December, we had a ton of fun preparing for the holiday season and getting into the holiday spirit.

We played many games to get us in the holiday spirit. Some of our holiday activities included “Roll a Snowman” dice game, eggnog and holiday word searches, “What’s in the Stocking?”, holiday charades, holiday riddles and jokes, holiday trivia, holiday mad libs, and a saran wrap present game. We had lots of laughs when trying to act our holiday charades. The new jokes we heard are still being said and laughed at. In addition to our holiday-themed games, we also played many of our typical favorite games. We played Zonk, beanbag toss, ladder ball, golf, Wii games, bowling, spoons, shuffleboard, and much more.

Some other activities that we had were singing with Mary, baking group, trips to Walmart, dollar tree, dinner at the Jamestown Bowling Company, and watching Christmas movies while eating popcorn. Singing with Mary is always so much fun and we really enjoy her coming each week. In baking group, we made banana bread, peanut butter balls, decorated Christmas cookies, and made a few other goodies.

On Christmas morning, we all gathered together to have hot cocoa and cookies while listening to traditional Christmas tunes. Santa must have come down the chimney the night before because we were each given gifts to open!

We were blessed with wonderful entertainment during December. We kicked off December with a concert by Bumpy and Bart. We always enjoy the concert they put on as we dance and sing every time! Our second entertainment group was the Happy Grams. They sang a bunch of Christmas tunes and we all sang along. Bill E. came on the 13th of December and sang a variety of tunes. We really enjoyed it! On a Tuesday evening we were entertained by Cindy Sue who performed numerous holiday tunes along with some other genres. We can’t wait to see her and her partner again! Davis and Eng came to perform for us a few days before Christmas and helped us to get into the Christmas spirit. Our last performer was Rick Bruening and he put on a wonderful show! We can’t wait for the entertainment in January.

Next month we have some new and exciting activities planned to kick off the new year! We hope that everyone had a wonderful holiday season and a happy new year!
