Comfort Today November look back

Tanglewood Group started the season of thankfulness off by hosting a Veteran’s Day luncheon to honor all that have served.  A big thank you goes out to our Dietary department for the wonderful carved roast beef lunch with all the trimmings (including apple pie a la mode). It was nice to have the opportunity to show our appreciation for all that have served.

Comfort Today has been fortunate to have had wonderful OTA student’s intern from Jamestown Community College. On their last visit, we practiced dancing with a pillow (as a part of their Fall Prevention presentation). In celebration for the end of their internship with us, we all enjoyed cider and donuts to let them know how much we enjoyed spending time with them, and to wish them well.

We always look for new outings, and activities in the community.  This month, we attended the “get acquainted” coffeehouse at St. Luke’s Church. The volunteers were so welcoming to us, that it made our visit extra special. We will definitely be adding this outing to our regular monthly schedule.

Our members always look forward to our monthly visit from our preschool friends from Zion Covenant Church.  This month we read some fun stories about turkeys, and made our own turkey hats.

The month of November is never complete without our Thanksgiving luncheon.  Because our members enjoy spending the holiday with their families, we host our holiday luncheon on the day before.  This year, we had such a great response from our caregivers.  It is always so exciting for our members to meet everyone’s families.  Again, a big thanks goes out to our Dietary department for providing a full holiday meal with all the trimmings.
