The Magnolia October Look Back

The month of October has been such a blast at the Frewsburg Magnolia.

This month we played some new and exciting games. One of our new favorites is Apples to Apples. We have also been a big fan of Rummikub and crafting lately. We are decorating the Magnolia to resemble the Wizard of Oz so we have been making a bunch of fun crafts to use. Aside from these activities, we have played our usual games like zonk, bean bag toss, ladder ball, shuffleboard, golf, and baking group. In our baking group we made some delicious banana bread!

Some of our favorite entertainers came and performed for us during the month of October, which we loved! We had Spencer D. sing and draw with us on two separate occasions. We are grateful for his company and his talents. In the beginning of the month we also had Bumpy and Bart perform some country hits for us. We sang along and some of us even danced! Bill E. came to sing for us and we enjoyed every minute of it. Our last entertainer of the month was Rick B. We loved hearing his voice and music.

In the month of October, we had a fundraiser for our Resident Christmas Fund that involved a handful of the staff to get a pie in the face! This was such a fun event for everyone. Some great students from Jamestown Community College came this month to spend some time with us. They painted pumpkins with us and we loved their company. We also were happy to have the Frewsburg Leo Club come and carve pumpkins with us! We had a lot of laughs! Several of us had the opportunity to go out to lunch to Bob Evan’s in Jamestown. We also we able to have dinner at a new restaurant in Randolph, NY called The Old Tool Tavern. We thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere here!

We enjoyed the month of October and participating in fall and Halloween themed activities. November will be the month filled with pie baking, thanksgiving crafts, enjoying each other’s company, and expressing our thankfulness to others! We also have numerous exciting entertainers to look forward to! We are excited to see what the month of November will bring!
