The Magnolia July Lookback
Wow, what an amazing month this was! From picnics to concerts, to outings and games, we had a lot going on this July!
The first big event on our agenda for this month was our Fourth of July Picnic which went exceptionally well. We had hot dogs and hamburgers along with AJ’s signature sauce to go with them and strawberry shortcake for dessert. We loved having our residents and their families out here to break in the new pavilion we had built at The Magnolia!
The day before our picnic, a couple of our residents who are involved in our resident choir, The Golden Gems, went up to Tanglewood and gave a fantastic performance with the group members there. Russ Keyser came the fifth and gave us an electric performance, which the residents loved and had fun dancing to. Mike Dennehy also paid us a visit a couple weeks after and played some of his classic country covers, followed by a concert with Saved By Grace a few days later who always give a heartfelt performance. The last performance of the month was Bart and Ron who played a lot of folk songs which the residents always enjoy hearing.
For outings this month we had our usual Walmart and Dollar Tree trips, a lunch trip to Tim Horton’s which was fun and tasty, a dinner outing to Basil and Bones which everybody loved and enjoyed dishes from their Italian menu. The last Saturday of this month we took a trip to Erlandson Overview Park and had a peaceful picnic and enjoyed the nature and sunshine up there. The day after that we took a Sunday morning drive to get ice cream and ride around Chautauqua Lake which was a fun way to end our outings.
It’s always a good time here at The Magnolia, July gave us some great times and fun memories and we look forward to many more in August! If you have any questions or comments about upcoming activities, please contact Jordan in Activities at (716)569-3095 Ext. 6714 or email at [email protected]
