Tanglewood Manor June Look Back

Summer is in session, and we’re taking full advantage of the change in season here at Tanglewood Manor! June has been a great month for us as we kicked off the much anticipated Summer Concert Series. Although the rain interfered with our concerts with the Barbara Jean Duo, The Happy Days Band, and the Steve Strickland Duo, all residents, guests, and family members that attended always left with a smile on their face. Our lineup of entertainers sure put on a great show as we danced in our seats and up on our feet! Luckily the break in rainy weather held up our final June concert with The Band Anastazja, and boy was it warm!

Other than our infamous Summer Concert Series held in our Louis Ferreri Memorial Park, we welcomed numerous musical guests in our main lounge including Russ Keiser, Janeen Jaynes, The Scandinavian Dancers, The Larsen Family, Nan Hoffman, and Rick Bruening.

We celebrated Father’s Day this month with our annual “Donuts for Dad” social event, where we acknowledge and recognize our fathers, being fathers, or any father-figures that impacted our lives. We had delicious (and HUGE!) donuts from Farm Fresh Foods and had a great time spending the day with family and friends. In addition to our Father’s Day party, we had our June birthday party, a root beer float fundraiser, our ladies tea party, a snow cone social, and several ice cream outings.

June was a wonderful month to kick off the summer festivities, and we know it will only get better as we welcome the month of July! We’re looking forward to our annual Fourth of July BBQ, Summer Concerts with The Golden Gems and The KoKoMo Time Band, our Senior Olympics Week, and sever other social events. As always we’d like to extend an invitation to all family members, friends and guests to all that we offer this July at Tanglewood Manor! If you have any questions or comments about any upcoming activities please contact Ericka Johnson, Tanglewood Activity Coordinator, (716)483-2876, extension 2222.
