Memory Care Households February Look Back
Hello everyone! What a great month we have had! Although February was quite cold, we were still able to enjoy ourselves while keeping warm in Tanglewood Manor. We began the month by following Phil the ground hog around all day. We all agreed that that is a weird tradition but we always love to see if he sees his shadow or not! We also had a super bowl party, plenty of Valentine’s Day crafts, baking groups, and a Valentine’s Day photo booth.
Who could forget our monthly birthday party?! Angelo’s music was terrific as always and he brought along some new jokes for us! We had two residents with birthdays this month!! Ruth McKinley and Bernie Rupp were celebrated as well as all the other TWM residents with birthdays! Of course, well take any excuse we can get to enjoy a delicious birthday treat! We also celebrated another special birthday! Dr. Seuss has a birthday on March 2nd so we celebrated the last week of February and first day of March by having a Seuss Week! Each day we had a different themed dress code to go along with one of his books. We all loved seeing what wacky outfit combinations we could all come up with!
We had one lunch outing this month. Davidsons was the choice and they did not disappoint! We also took a trip to the Jamestown Savings Bank Ice Arena to kick off our new monthly walking club called the silver sneakers! Once the weather gets warm, we will go to different local parks and trails, but for now, we enjoy watching kids skate and play hockey while we walk. Our concerts for the month included, Russ Keiser, Saved by Grace, Bumpy and Bart, our very own Golden Gems, Cindy Sue, and Darren & Kristen. They always blow us away with their talent! Other than all of that, we went to New Orleans with our arm chair travels group and congratulated Linda S. on being the resident of the month.
Next month we are looking forward to more concerts, outings to various coffee shops around the Jamestown area, and good times with great friends. As we welcome colder weather and more time indoors, you will have to check out our Facebook page for the crafts we’ll be making, desserts well be baking, and much more! We can’t wait to share all the fun with you!
