Tanglewood Manor September Look Back
One thing was for sure about this September, it was a whirl-wind with the constant weather changes that never kept us down! We kicked off our September with a fun Labor Day Tea Party and what better way to enjoy than with delicious homemade apple pie bites. We enjoyed a wonderful performance by our very own Golden Gems and celebrated with a delicious treat, chocolate covered Oreo pops! We gobbled up some cupcakes and sipped on cold milk, in honor of all those grandparents out there, on National Grandparent’s Day. During our Armchair Travels, we were off to Scotland and munched on Walker’s butter cookies and coffee. Yes, the cookies were imported from Scotland! We made our very own birthday cake this month, for our resident birthday party, with a very old-fashioned recipe for Texas Sheet Cake! There wasn’t a crumb left! We kept our tummies full with Take-Out Tuesday! We enjoyed some delicious, home-style Italian this month. In honor of the fall season kicking off this month, what better way to enjoy apples, than with homemade fried apple pies!! YUM!!
Besides keeping our tummies full, we enjoyed many musical groups this month. We welcomed back Kings Express, Gabriela Caruso, Lucille Shurkus, Nan Hoffman, Saved by Grace, and enjoyed and laughed at Angelo as he told jokes and played the harmonica during our resident birthday party. Here at Tanglewood, we’re all about having lots of fun and getting competitive during games we play. We joined Comfort Today and played a fun round of Croquet in their courtyard. One of our very own Tanglewood residents won the game! We also held a Spelling Bee to see who was the top speller of Tanglewood.
Even though we are sad to see the summer season go, we are looking forward to playing with pumpkins and many memorable moments as we kick off our October month. We are so excited for some fun outings, concerts and many more yummy and festive treats. Join us in making this the best fall season ever!
