Frewsburg Rest Home Look Back on March 2018
We had an eventful month of March here at the Frewsburg Rest Home! Between St. Patrick’s Day and Easter events we sure stayed busy! The residents enjoyed themed parties, music and crafts for the holidays with friends and family. We congratulated Donna M. as our resident of the month in March and our Golden Gems traveled to Tanglewood Manor for their St. Patrick’s day concert. We also enjoyed some new activities and outings throughout the month. Kings Express Music Entertainment and Nan Hoffman both came to Frewsburg and delighted us with musical entertainment. Here at the Rest Home we love music.
We tried something different this month at the Frewsburg Rest Home. We incorporated our Easter Egg Hunt and Easter Brunch together to make a nice Easter weekend for residents, families, staff and the community. We invited everyone to join in on a free Easter Egg Hunt for children offered to the community and included a Easter Brunch for residents and their families.
Our 3rd Annual Easter Egg Hunt had a fantastic turn out with friends and family! It might have been cold outside but that didn’t stop the community from coming out to support this free event that the residents really enjoy hosting. We hid over 800 eggs that were found by all of our hunters in less than 15 minutes! With Easter being so early this year we were excited to see so many smiling faces willing to brave the cold!
Our friends and family Easter Brunch was also a hit with a buffet style meal and our Chefs making fresh omelets. Smiles were all around! For 2 hours the residents and their families came through our buffet line to share a nice meal together. We love getting to see our residents able to share a holiday meal with their families! This is such a special event that we try to schedule a brunch at the Rest Home every few months so that family and residents can enjoy time together.
As food is always a big hit here at the Frewsburg Rest Home, residents enjoyed making a home-made meal and cookies in our Bistro. We utilized one of our residents spaghetti and meatballs recipe, straight from 
her home kitchen that she would make for her family. The ladies that got together for the event then enjoyed their meal together in our Bistro. Everyone was very excited to help cook and try it out when it was done! The beauty of conversation and reminiscing brought so many smiles to the group.
With April right around the corner we are excited about the activities to come! We will be checking out a few places right here in Frewsburg such as the Martz Observatory and Erlandson Overlook to have a picnic(as long as the weather cooperates)! Our Easter Dinner is sure to bring happiness to our residents as their families come back in to share another meal with them! The residents are also looking forward to coloring eggs, baking some more home-made treats, finding hidden treasures and showing off our artistic side!
